Dr. Takashi Amemiya received M.S. degree of Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1978. He joined Toshiba Corporation where he engaged in for 30 years in the various fields of engineering, research and development work such as fuel cell systems, environment related systems, and material/energy recycling technology of industrial wastes and E-wastes. Among them one of his eminent achievements was development of automobile waste gasification-to-energy technology. He was awarded Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo with research on the LCA and investment profitability evaluation of ASR (Automobile Shredder Residue) recycling system. In 2013, He was appointed as a professor at Nippon Institute of Technology, Japan, and is doing research achievements in the field of material and resource circulation engineering for the application in environmental area. He received Advanced Technology Prize Award from Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering in 2004.
