Daniele De Wrachien is currently Retired Professor of Agricultural Hydraulics at the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of the State University of Milan and Member of the Board of Director of the Wessex Institute of Technology (WIT) ,Southampton ,UK. He graduated from the State University of Milan as geologist and obtained his PhD in Advanced Engineering Geology. He performed his duties as ,Director of the Institute of Agricultural Hydraulics (2000-2006) ,Director of Computer Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture,(1992-95) ,Tutor of MPhil and PhD students of the Faculty of Agriculture ,External Examiner to MPhil and PhD students ,Visiting Professor at the Wessex Institute of Technology ( WIT ). Daniele received the following Honours and Awards Award for Truthful Support and Help in Organizing and Improving Scientific Level of the Symposia "Actual Tasks on Agricultural Engineering", Croatian Agricultural Engineering Society, Award in Recognition of Services to the European Society of Agricultural Engineers, Award for outstanding contribution to Engineering Sciences, WIT,Award for the Best Performing Working Body ,International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage. As President of the European Society of Agricultural Engineers (2002- 04) Daniele established Agreements with national, regional and world-wide Organisations such as CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural Engineering) ,ESA (European Society of Agronomy) ,FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations) , ICID (International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage), IUSS (International Union of Soil Sciences) , and others. The scientific activity of Daniele deals with the following fields of interest: water resources management ,irrigation and drainage technology, performance assessment of sprinkler irrigation systems ,modelling of transport processes in porous media ,modelling and fluid-dynamics of debris and hyper-concentrated flows, flood control and mitigation measures, desertification and environmental impact of climate change, classical and quantum fluid-dynamical trajectories. Biography :

Professor Akgün received his Bachelor’s degree from the Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Geological Engineering in 1981 and his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Arizona, Department of Geological Engineering in 1986 and 1990, respectively. Professor Akgün is a faculty member at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Geological Engineering, Ankara, Turkey since 1995 and Associate Editors of The Journal of Solid Waste Technology & Management and Environmental Geosciences journal. He was employed as a Senior Design Associate at Environtech Consultants, Inc., Boca Raton, Florida, during 1990-1992 and, as a Senior Geotechnical/Geo-environmental Engineer at Geotech, Inc., Maple Shade, New Jersey during 1993-1995 before becoming a faculty member at METU. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with specializations in engineering geology and geotechnical engineering. Professor Akgün has authored a total of 2 international book chapters, 2 international encyclopedia chapters, 60 international journal papers and 74 international conference papers.

Biography :

Dr. Serpil Guran is the Director of Rutgers EcoComplex “Clean Energy Innovation Center”. She also manages the new EcoIgnite: Clean Technology Proof of Concept Center and Accelerator” program. Her responsibilities include management of the EcoComplex operations, programs, business incubator and facilities, as well as providing vision and leadership in establishing the EcoComplex as a center for the commercialization of environmental and clean energy technologies. She also serves as an Associate Teaching Prof. at Rutgers University’s Plant Biology Program. Dr. Guran is trained on thermochemical conversion (pyrolysis and gasification) of biomass and waste materials for production of fuels and chemicals. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Fuel and Energy Engineering program at The University of Leeds /United Kingdom. Dr. Guran recently served as the chair of AIChE SPS’17 –Innovations in Transforming Waste to Value-Added Products on December 5-7, 2018 held in New Brunswick, NJ/USA. She also served on Scientific Committees of numerous Clean Energy and Recycling related Conferences and Workshops.

Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department

Biography :

Dr. Park is a professor of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering at Yonsei University in 1977 and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering at Seoul National University in 1979. He worked as a consulting engineer in Korea and Australia for two years after serving two and a half years of military service. He received a Ph.D. in Public Health Engineering at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom in 1985. He worked as a research engineer at the Sanitary and Environmental Health Research Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley from 1985 to 1988. Since he joined University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988, he has taught environmental engineering courses such as water treatment plant design, wastewater treatment plant design, biological treatment, physical/chemical treatment, hazardous waste management, solids and hazardous waste engineering, industrial water pollution control, etc. His research is in the areas of water quality management and river restoration; biological treatment of toxic organic compounds; biological nutrient removal, hazardous waste treatment; mass transport in the environment; fate of organic compounds in water and wastewater treatment processes; computer-aided design of water and wastewater treatment plants; and reuse of scrap vehicle tires as a contaminant sorbent. He has published one book and over 200 journal articles. He has been a consultant to many governments, institutions, utilities, and companies from all over the world.

Biography :

Dr. Masato R. Nakamura is an environmental engineering scientist and Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Industrial Design at New York City College of Technology (City Tech), The City University of New York (CUNY), located in Brooklyn’s DUMBO area, known as the New York City’s highest concentration of tech start-ups. He obtained his BS in Metallurgical Engineering and MS in Materials Science and Engineering at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. After graduated, he worked as a systems engineer in Tokyo until he came to New York City in 2001. He obtained a Doctor of Engineering Science (Eng.Sc.D.) in Earth and Environmental Engineering from Columbia University, New York. After that, he worked for several R&D projects related to electric trading system, green data centers, and cloud/virtualization technologies in the financial services industry as a solutions architect at ITOCHU Technology, Inc, a New York-based solutions consulting firm. In 2010, he joined the Earth Engineering Center of Columbia’s Earth Institute as a postdoctoral research scientist working on renewable energy and environmental simulation. Since he was appointed in 2011 as an assistant professor in New York City Tech, CUNY, he has taught courses in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Technology, and led a research group, Energy and Environmental Simulation Laboratory (EESL).

Professor Mervat El-Hoz is the chairperson of Environmental Engineering Program at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Balamand, Lebanon. She graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey as Environmental Engineer and obtained her PhD from the University Of Sydney, Australia in the same field. She received many international and national Honors and Awards in the field of Solid Waste Management and Environmental in general. She is Author of over 100 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings: scientific papers, key-note speaker lectures, chapters in books and technical reports. She is a member of the Editorial Board of many International Journals, and scientific committees in international conferences 2002 -. She is a guest lecturer at various universities in the United States and the Arab countries. She served as senior environmental expert at the World Bank, Council for Development and Reconstruction on Solid Waste / Environmental Management, Lebanon (1998 – 2002); as an environmental expert, local coordinator, technical leader and trainer for EU, UNDP, and USAID projects in solid waste, water, wastewater, and air pollution 2002 –; as an environmental consultant for Transport Safety and Logistics in Collection and Disposal of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Wastes, Ghana 2010 –; and as consultant for many Municipalities and Municipal Union in Lebanon, 1998 -.

Professor, Industrial Ecology and Circular Economy

Biography :

Anthony Halog is a University Professor at the University of Queensland. His research focuses on the sustainability of human-nature complexity through understanding the nexus of material and energy systems. Over the years, he has been working on the foundation and industrial applications of Circular Economy, Greening Supply Chains, Life Cycle Assessment, Sustainable Operations, Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA), and Resource Management & Bioeconomy. His Research Group in Industrial Ecology and Circular Economy at UQ (http://industrialece.wixsite.com/main) endeavours to provide service/expertise for industry clients (e.g. agri-food-energy systems) in transforming existing linear system-based value chains and operations towards circularity, which enhances their resource efficiency & productivity, creates added value products from wastes, and reduces emissions into the environment for a more sustainable consumption and production in the future. He is keen in pursuing collaborative and cross-disciplinary research across industries via system analysis and modelling. Previously, he held academic positions at the University of Maine (USA) and Brock University (Canada). He completed his PhD from the Institute for Industrial Production/French-German Institute for Environmental Research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. He participated in sustainability assessment-related courses at the United Nations University, Japan and Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria. Dr. Halog has authored and co-authored more than 70 publications and presented papers in industrial ecology and circular economy, and has been a visiting scholar in several leading research institutions in Europe and Asia. He has given keynote talks worldwide to share his expertise in greening supply chains, circular economy and industrial sustainability.

Pr. Lingai LUO is Research Director of French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). She was Direction member of LTEN and the director of LOCIE, both Laboratories of CNRS. She was the cofounder and coordinator of Sino-French Collaboratory for Environmental and Process Engineering and the director of its successor Sino-French Laboratory for Sustainable Energy of French CNRS and Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is mainly engaged in the intensification of heat and mass transfer and the efficiency optimization in different energy components, systems and processes. She has developed an original strategy on the optimization of energy systems by a multi-scale approach associated with an innovative method of optimized management of fluid distribution. Shi is the author of 2 books and over 130 journal articles. She is serving as subject editor of Energy Journal, and associate editor of three other Journals.

Dr. Ioanna Vasiliadou is a researcher at the Environmental Engineering Department of Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH, Greece). Dr. Vasiliadou received her Degree (2004) and PhD (2008) both from the Dep. of Environmental and Natural Resources Management, University of Ioannina, Greece. In her PhD thesis she studied the biological removal of nitrates from drinking water. As a postdoctoral researcher, she worked in three countries (Greece, Spain, Italy) and six institutes. During her active presence in research, Dr. Vasiliadou has focused on the field of Environmental Engineering, including Environmental Remediation technologies, Biotechnological Processes and Biomass Waste Valorisation: i) Water and wastewater treatment, ii) Advanced bio-oxidation processes, iii) Biodiesel production, iv) Resources and energy recovery, v) Soil and groundwater bioremediation, vi) Bio-electrochemical systems, vii) Mathematical modelling. Dr. Vasiliadou has been the Author of 31 peer-reviewed articles in professional journals (citations: 707, h-index: 13), one book chapter and 31 international and national conference proceedings publications. She serves as peer reviewer for 33 Journals and she is evaluator of scientific proposals for the French, Dutch and the Spanish National Research Agencies. She has been participated in 7 research projects and has been awarded 5 personal competitive postdoctoral research grants.

Responsibility

Delegates are personally responsible for their belongings at the venue. The Organizers will not be held responsible for any stolen or missing items belonging to Delegates, Speakers or Attendees; due to any reason whatsoever.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind.

Transportation

Please note that any (or) all transportation and parking is the responsibility of the registrant.

Press/Media

Press permission must be obtained from Allied Academies Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The Allied academies are a non-profit organization. This conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter

For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference. Once your registration is complete, please contact recycling@earthscienceconference.com to request a personalized letter of invitation.

Regarding refunds, all bank charges will be for the registrant's account.

Cancellation, Postponement and Transfer of Registration

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to Program Manager (recycling@earthscienceconference.com or finance@alliedacademies.com).

Cancellation Policy

If Allied academies cancel this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies Conferences (AAC) event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.

Postponement

If Allied academies postpone an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies Conferences event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Transfer of registration

All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to Program Manager. Details must be included with the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of the conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 14 days of the respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied Academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues cannot come under the consideration of cancellation policy of Allied Academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy:

If the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund arrangements apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overheads, we had to keep Refund Policy is as following slabs-

Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund less $100 service Fee

Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund

Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund

E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

Accommodation Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies, and they generally apply when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. Please contact us as soon as possible, if you wish to cancel or amend your accommodation. Allied Academies will advise the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancelling or amending your booking, to ensure you are fully aware of any non-refundable deposits
